The polling engines are a key player in the detection of platform failure and are broken into 2 categories:
- Server hardware and operating system status.
- Webeye network, server location availability, Webeye software including 3rd party alarm software availability and polling engine availability.
If polling engines are key then who or what watches them, watching the system?
“Quite simply they watch each other” states Clive Mason “We have twelve of them, four in the centre and eight in each of our three world wide web data centre locations, if something goes wrong at one location or on one server, the others report in immediately and our around the clock engineers kick in to resolve it”
