Webeye Ltd opens new purpose built Operations Centre

Due to the phenomenal success of the webeyecms platform and in particular the growth in the UK and North America we've decided to invest in a new fully equipped purpose built, state of the art, Operations Centre dedicated to keeping the Webeye platform alive and available. After extensive consultation with all stake holders we gave our architects, designers and building contractors virtually carté blanc to design a room that can offer our customers a world beating service. The centre also houses our technical support team who are responsible for onsite telephone support for engineers, distributors or resellers alike.

“An alarm system or Mpers solution is only as good as the platform behind it” states Clive Mason, Managing Director of Webeye Ltd. He continues, “If it’s allowed to go down, then quite simply the assets that it’s intended to protect are exposed. We have a duty to do everything in our power to limit or eliminate this possibility”

The Centre houses a myriad of sophisticated platform monitoring tools that keep a real time eye on such things as the platforms network (world wide web), servers, server locations, Webeye software architecture and polling engines.

The polling engines are a key player in the detection of platform failure and are broken into 2 categories:

  • Server hardware and operating system status.
  • Webeye network, server location availability, Webeye software including 3rd party alarm software availability and polling engine availability.
If polling engines are key then who or what watches them, watching the system?

“Quite simply they watch each other” states Clive Mason “We have twelve of them, four in the centre and eight in each of our three world wide web data centre locations, if something goes wrong at one location or on one server, the others report in immediately and our around the clock engineers kick in to resolve it”
